Terrestrial Bio Opens Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility in Boston

Massachusetts Economic Development Secretary Eric Paley and MLSC’s Elizabeth Graham joined Terrestrial CEO Rachel Sha for a ribbon cutting that celebrated the company’s growing presence in the Bay State

BOSTON, October 30, 2026 — Terrestrial Bio, Inc., a biotech company transforming the delivery of next-generation therapies, today announced the opening of its new headquarters and manufacturing facility at 250 Western Avenue in Allston, Massachusetts. The company celebrated the milestone with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 28, bringing together employees, government leaders, investors, and public and private partners.

Located at Allston Labworks, the facility spans more than 40,000 square feet and is designed to support production of Terrestrial’s Tacterra™ microarray patches for clinical trials and demonstration of commercial-scale production for its lead program, VX-201, delivering GLP-1. The facility integrates automation, robotics, machine vision and advanced analytics to help the company scale manufacturing and strengthen quality control as its therapeutic programs advance.

“Imagine a future where you can stay healthy, feel and look the way you want, and live the life that you hope to live, with less daily struggle to access and afford transformative medication,” said Rachel Sha, CEO of Terrestrial. “At Terrestrial, we’re grounded in the patient experience. We’re focused on developing products that help improve patient lives… We are so excited to be here in our new headquarters, which will help us realize this future sooner.”

The opening expands Terrestrial’s presence in Massachusetts and establishes a foundation for long-term growth in the Commonwealth. By investing in advanced manufacturing capabilities at its headquarters, Terrestrial is laying the groundwork for a long-term manufacturing presence in Boston that creates high-quality jobs.

“Massachusetts is the most curious place on earth — it’s a place where you are valued for the questions you ask… and uniquely valued for the quality of your questions,” said Eric Paley, Secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development. “Questions might be ‘What medicines might help people thrive?’ … But another really important question is ‘How do we make it the easiest possible way to access these medicines?’... We think that kind of curiosity in what Terrestrial has done here can ultimately change the world... We are here to support you in any way we can. We are delighted to be a part of what you’re creating.”

Terrestrial’s manufacturing expansion has received support through two Massachusetts state grants totaling more than $2.2 million. These include a $1,417,560 BioBoost Award from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) to support commercial-scale facility development and an $850,000 award through the Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2), administered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing.

“It’s a pleasure to be here today and see a tremendous partnership,” said Elizabeth Graham, Interim President and CEO of the MLSC. “Terrestrial is really what makes the Commonwealth such an amazing place to be.”

The opening follows several milestones for Terrestrial in 2026. In March, the company announced a $50 million Series C financing. In July, Terrestrial announced that it had dosed the first participants in a Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating VX-201, its investigational Tacterra™ microarray patch for semaglutide delivery.

About Terrestrial Bio, Inc.

Terrestrial is transforming the delivery of next-generation therapies, starting with GLP-1.

Terrestrial's proprietary Tacterra™ microarray patch (MAP) and applicator platform consists of a patch resembling an adhesive bandage, which is applied with a preloaded applicator and removed after a few minutes. Once applied, each patch delivers bioactive tips into the skin, which dissolve quickly into the body, rapidly releasing their therapeutic payload. Designed for self-administration, the temperature-stable Tacterra™ platform enables precise, controlled delivery of a wide range of therapeutics without medical sharps or refrigeration.

Terrestrial has generated strong clinical and in-vivo proof of concept across multiple molecules. For more information, visit www.terrestrialbio.com.
